When he brought over the revised list, it had some very nice additions, but it still lacked any depth, or aged bottles. He stated that he was working on a new list and offered to show it to us. He was extremely gracious and very apologetic about the lack of depth of the wine list. While we were waiting for our food, the new manager came over to speak with us. For sides we ordered the shaved Brussel Sprouts and the creamed spinach. We both ordered the bone in ribeye, medium-rare. When she came back and told us that the steaks were not aged at all, but were hand cut in house, we both were shocked.

She did not know, but went to the kitchen to ask. For our main course, I asked our server if the steaks were dry aged, and for how long. We ordered the charred Ceaser salad and a Steakhouse wedge salad. I would expect the restaurant to mark up the bottle 50-100%, but certainly no more. I personally have a wine cellar with +- 3,500 bottles, so I am very familiar with the cost of a bottle. To say that I was disappointed is a great understatement!! The selection was pitifully lacking, and what they did have was shockingly overpriced.

I expected to get a booklet with at least 200+ bottles to choose from. After seeing that there was no wine to be seen, I asked for a wine list. After being seated our server came right over and introduced herself and asked if we would like a beverage, something from the bar, or to see the wine list. Upon entering, we were wowed by the initial appearance, but then we both noticed that something very important for a restaurant of this quality was missing, no wine to be seen, anyplace. We finally got the chance when our wives were. My closest buddy and I have never been to Oak and Embers Steakhouse, but have been wanting to go My best buddy and I have been wanting to try Oak and Embers Steakhouse for some time. We have enjoyed some of the other restaurants, but this one was not a great experience, and we would not go back. He came back later and said the computer made an error and reduced the charges. We informed him that none of the other restaurants charge that much and also restaurants in New York City. When we got the bill, there was a charge for our Manhattans which were four for $96! When we spoke to the manager, he said it was because it was a 3 ounce pour. They also gave me a complimentary chocolate martini, which was nice. By the time I got my steak back my husband and brother were finished so they removed the charge for the steak from our bill which was not necessary. But he said the rice underneath, the risotto was very spicy unbeknownst to him. My brother said he could make better pea soup. I ordered the ribeye with the bone special. I ordered the wedge and my husband ordered the lobster bisque. We have been to all the Kyle G’s except in Stuart. My brother, my husband and I came here for dinner.
